Question for written answer P-003118-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Claude Rolin (PPE)

Subject:  Human rights and the EU-Peru/Colombia/Ecuador trade agreement
 Answer in writing

On 25 October 2017, 25 Peruvian and European civil society organisations lodged a complaint against Peru with the Commission. They are accusing Peru of failing to comply with certain provisions of the EU-Peru/Colombia/Ecuador trade agreement. The complaint chiefly concerns violations of labour rights and environmental protection standards.

The Commission was originally due to produce an interim report on its investigation into the complaint by late April/early May 2018. Nothing has yet been made public, however.

Does the Commission intend to publish an interim report on its investigation into the complaint lodged by these organisations, or will it only publish a final report once the investigation has been completed?
