Question for written answer P-004461-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Beata Gosiewska (ECR)

Subject:  Drought in Poland — compensation for farmers in drought-stricken areas
 Answer in writing

Polish farmers are suffering severe financial losses as a result of the drought. Production conditions and market conditions have deteriorated sharply. As the amount of losses is sufficient to require external aid, the Minister of Agriculture, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, has submitted an application concerning the drought in Poland and asked the Commission to take emergency measures pursuant to Article 221 of Regulation No 1308/2013.

1. Has the Commission already taken a decision on the application of the aid mechanism in response to Poland’s request?

2. How much support can be provided and when?
