P-005883-18
Question for written answer P-005883-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Tamás Deutsch (PPE)

Subject:  ‘Migrant cards’ — bank cards for immigrants
 Answer in writing

The Commission is — unacceptably — maintaining radio silence on the question of ‘migrant cards’ and is giving no information about the matter.

I believe a large number of Hungarian and other citizens are awaiting the replies of the Commission President to the following questions:
1. What is the thinking and the legal authorisation behind the decision to give EU money to non-EU citizens, and exactly how much EU money has so far been put onto these cards?
2. How many kinds of anonymous migrant cards are there? How many have been issued and how many are planned to be issued?
3. How much money is transferred to each migrant? How much money can a migrant withdraw using the card, and how many times?
