Subject:  Situation in Aruba & Curaçao
 Answer in writing

Due to the political, economic and social crisis in Venezuela, thousands of people are fleeing and migrating toward neighbouring countries and the islands close to the country in an attempt to avoid violence perpetrated by the regime. A number of Venezuelan citizens who have travelled to Aruba and Curaçao in seek of refuge have reported desperate conditions — a situation that must be highlighted.

Is the Commission aware of the real conditions in which Venezuelan refugees are received, detained and treated?

Which actions can be taken in order to protect the rights of those people?
