The Commission is preparing a communication campaign on the application of the new rules on the pricing of intra-EU calls, which will include involvement of Representations in the Member States. The campaign will run around the 15 May 2019, which is the date of entry into force of the measure. The campaign will contain focused messaging for the target audiences (people who use intra-EU calls via the traditional channels: fixed and mobile telephony and SMS).

The Commission intends to use all possible Communication channels to amplify the campaign, including web, press and social media. The campaign will have recourse to texts, graphs and other materials, including relevant questions from a new Eurobarometer flash report. The Commission will also send a letter to consumer associations to raise awareness.
