P-001322-19
Question for written answer P-001322-19
to the Commission
Rule 130
Dita Charanzová (ALDE)

Subject:  Awareness-raising about the new price cap on intra-EU calls
 Answer in writing

The recently adopted Telecoms Package (the European Electronic Communications Code(1) and the BEREC Regulation(2)) caps the price of all intra-EU calls at EUR 0.19 per minute plus VAT, and all intra-EU SMS at EUR 0.06 plus VAT as of 15 May 2019.

How does the Commission intend to raise awareness of this new rule and inform European citizens?

Will the Commission launch a promotional campaign, as it did with the new roaming rules?

In light of the European elections, this is a positive example of what the European Union can do for consumers.
