Parliamentary questions

P-004112/2019
Priority question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 138
Lukas Mandl
Subject: Funding of the European Islamophobia report

In my question for written answer P-003384/2019 of 21 October 2019, I had inquired about funding for the preparation and publication of the annual European Islamophobia report. In its answer, the Commission explained on 28 November 2019 that the ‘Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research’ (Siyaset, Ekonomi ve Toplum Araştırmaları Vakfı - SETA), a think tank with close links to Erdoğan, had received EU funding totalling EUR 126 951.81 for this purpose.

Was this grant of EUR 126 951.81 allocated and finally used exclusively for the preparation and publication of the annual Islamophobia report?

Was this a case of one-off funding for the preparation and publication of the annual report on Islamophobia under the 5th phase of the EU-Turkey Civil Society Dialogue programme funded from the 2015 Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) envelope or have there been further EU grants at an earlier or later date?
