P-000207/2020
Priority question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 138
Cristian Ghinea
Subject: Payments made to Romanian beneficiaries after the 90-day deadline set out in Article 132(1) of the Common Provisions Regulation

Due to excessive bureaucracy, the Romanian body that grants European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) support at the national and regional level does not meet the 90-day provision laid down in Article 132(1) of the Common Provisions Regulation (CPR). These delays lead to projects being halted and to financial flow bottlenecks in the European Union budget.

In view of this, what measures will the Commission’s DG EMPL and DG REGIO take to ensure that the Romanian body granting the ESIF support to beneficiaries complies with the 90-day provision laid down in Article 132(1) of the CPR?
