August 2004

Factsheets of the Negotiations is a series of concise information sheets which gives for each country and negotiating chapter a summary of the acquis as provided by the Commission, the progress/results of the negotiations, any positions adopted by the EP and the conclusions of the most recent Commission Regular Report.
The factsheets for the ten countries which acceded to the European Union on 1 May 2004 are retained for archive interest.
The factsheets for Bulgaria and Romania are being added or updated as the negotiations on the various chapters progress, whilst for Turkey negotiations have not yet opened.
All factsheets are short (2 to 3 pages) PDF documents with hyperlinks and are in English only.
