EYE2018: A record-breaking response

Over 8000 young people will be attending the next edition of the European Youth Event (EYE2018), such a high number of people has never shown interest in the EYE event before!

Over 50 nationalities, 2 days, 1 goal: come up with ideas for the future of Europe! The #EYE2018 will be held on 1-2 June 2018 in the Parliament seat in Strasbourg, and will play host to thousands of young people from each and every Member State in the EU, including participants from Asia, Africa and other parts of Europe (check the animated infographic to see who is coming).

Participants will be between 16 and 30 years old, with the majority being between 18 and 24 years old. The gender is balanced, with 55% of participants being female. Amongst the participants many represent youth organizations and political groups, but also a lot of high schools, universities, and vocational schools signed up together with groups of friends who decided to take part in the event.

What now? The programme has been updated, find it online, using the link below! It now includes the contributions from partners and youth groups, confirmed speakers (most of them younger than 30 years old!), timings and locations. From the 20th March participants can start booking the activities which they would like to attend.

Together with the discussions, debates and workshops on offer, the EYE2018 will feature a host of artistic performances. A number of dance, theatre and interactive activities, which have been organised by various youth groups, will be taking place in Strasbourg, while Members of the European Parliament will be teaming up with rappers for a series of Rap Battles on the most important issues in Europe.

Such a huge event could not happen without volunteers. Over 250 young people, mostly from Strasbourg, will volunteer at the EYE2018 and will play an invaluable role in the running of the event.

In a few words: all is set for another memorable edition of the European Youth Event!
