The European Youth Event 2014 (EYE) will take place from 9th to 11th May 2014 at the European Parliament's seat in Strasbourg. With the motto "Ideas for a better Europe" this event will bring together several thousand young Europeans aged between 16 and 30.

The European Parliament will open its doors to thousands of young people from all over the EU. Participants will be invited to meet with European decision-makers and speakers with a wide range of professional experience to exchange ideas and perspectives on youth-related issues, develop new, innovative ways and solutions to crucial questions for the future and experience the rich cultural diversity within the European Union through the staging of various cultural performances.


Five Topics

The event will be centered around five thematic areas, which are core issues for the future of young Europeans:

  • Youth Unemployment. New perspectives for a blocked generation
  • Digital Revolution. The future of the internet
  • Future of the European Union. Europe in transition
  • Sustainability. New European Lifestyle - Sustainable business and living
  • European Values. Global Player - Fair Player?

Indoor and outdoor activities

The EYE 2014 aims to be a unique political and cultural experience with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities during three days.

The event will offer:

  • Political debates and workshops with European political decision-makers and high-profile speakers from business and civil society;
  • Roleplay games and idea laboratories for young participants;
  • The Yo!Festival (Youth Village and Festival) organised by the European Youth Forum;

... and much more.

Cultural highlights will include a Street Festival and an Open Air Concert in the old town of Strasbourg on Friday night and a Party on Saturday night near the European Parliament buildings.
