Nicole Fontaine 'deeply distressed by the Concorde tragedy'

Nicole Fontaine, the President of the European Parliament, has expressed her deep distress at the tragic loss of the Concorde which crashed near Roissy, killing over 110 people, most of them Germans.
In a message to Chancellor Schröder and to the Presidents of the Bundestag and the Bundesrat (the two chambers of the German Parliament), Nicole Fontaine expressed her 'immense sadness and deep sympathy for the victims' next of kin and their families, whose shattered lives will never be the same again'.
'At this time may they know that the whole of Europe mourns with them and shares the immense grief which has descended upon them.'
