THE COMPETITIVENESS OF EUROPEAN INDUSTRY

This hearing has been prepared by the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (I.P.T.S.), part of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

A reflexion document has been prepared and is available from the committee in English and in French.

The hearing will be divided into three themes of about 50 minutes each. Each theme will be introduced by an expert, whose speech will last 5-10 minutes.

• 1st theme : Creativity, industrial management and new technologies
  (based on an analysis of the case of the construction of the SMART car produced by MERCEDES and SWATCH in Alsace).
