An Taoiseach to address a major business event "SMEs Doing Business in Europe"

A significant event for small and medium businesses considering doing business in Europe is taking place in Knockranny House Hotel, Westport on Saturday 1st October.  

Entitled "SMEs Doing Business in Europe", it is co-hosted by Network Mayo and the European Parliament's Information Office in Ireland.  

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, will make a formal address and the event will be chaired by Marian Harkin, MEP.

This half day event is free of charge but pre-registration is essential.

HD At this time of economic challenge it is more vital than ever for SME's to learn how to expand into European markets. "SMEs Doing Business in Europe" will meet this challenge in an informative and interesting way. Participants will hear a number of success stories from entrepreneurs detailing how they expanded and grew their business into new markets and are now effectively doing business in Europe.  These speakers are successful SMEs, Anne Butterly, Easy Dry (Louth), Aisling Roche, Achill Island Turbot (Mayo), Adrian Devanne, Babog Baby (Galway), and Bernie Butler, Good4U (Sligo).

The opening welcome will be given by Olwen Dawe, President Network Mayo and the introductory speech by Francis Jacobs, Head of Office, European Parliament Information Office Ireland.  Caoimhe Delaney Development Manager with The Irish Exporters' Association will be in attendance to advise on their top recommendations & supports available for SMEs exporting within Europe.

"SMEs Doing Business in Europe" takes place on Saturday 1st October in Knockranny House Hotel, Westport, registration is from 9.15am - 10.00am. The event includes networking opportunities during a complimentary light breakfast and lunch and will conclude at 1.00pm.

This is a business seminar not to be missed. It is open to all small and medium business owners, particularly those based in Mayo, Galway and Sligo. There is no attendance fee but registration is essential by Wednesday 28 September to secure your place (email or telephone 01-6057900).
