Consultation on the revision of the Posted Workers Directive, 2 February 2017

Deirdre Clune MEP hosted and chaired a stakeholder consultation on the proposed revisions to the Posted Workers Directive at EU House Dublin on 2 February. The rapporteur for the legislation, Elisabeth Morin-Chartier also attended. The major stakeholders concerned by the directive participated and included trades unions, employers' representative bodies, recruitment agencies, legal firms, Eurofound and individual members of trade unions.

Public service bodies involved in policy formulation on worker mobility and agencies responsible for enforcement also took part. Senator Gerard P Craughwell represented the Oireachtas European Affairs Committee.  Details of the legislation were debated at length and participants voiced support for many of the proposed changes while also detailing additional measures they would wish to see included.
