Greening the CAP (Cross-border Forum)

Armagh City Hotel, Friary Road 9.30am-2.00pm

The second cross-border consultation organised together with the European Parliament Office in the United Kingdom on the upcoming reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy.

Starts at 9.30 am in the Armagh City Hotel, Friary Road, Armagh on Friday 2nd December 2011.

With the proposals for major reform of the EU CAP now on the table, discussions are underway in the European Parliament, National Parliaments and in National and Regional Assemblies.  These reforms will have potentially far-reaching impacts on Northern Irish farmers and consumers, and on the countryside.  At this important juncture, the European Parliament is hosting a public conference to discuss these proposed reforms, with a particular emphasis on the environmental dimension.

Speakers include all three Northern Irish MEPs: Bairbre de Brún MEP, Diane Dodds MEP & Jim Nicholson MEP as well as: Michael Hammel (European Commission), Kaley Hart (Institute of European Environmental Policy), Harry Sinclair (UFU Deputy President), Eddie Downey (IFA Deputy President), John Martin (RSPB Northern Ireland), Lord Elis-Thomas AM, John O'Mahony TD.

This conference is open to all and free to attend.
