International Women's Day, Marker Hotel, Dublin, 3 March 2015

The European Parliament Information Office in cooperation with the National Women's Council of Ireland will hold an event on Tuesday, 3 March 2015 at the Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square in Dublin launching "Better Boards, Better Business, Better Society:  A handbook for increasing the number of women on boards in Ireland".   This is a follow-up to a previous European Union initiative aimed at getting a minimum percentage of women on company boards in all European countries.  

 
 

The event will be chaired by broadcaster and publishing entrepreneur, Norah Casey. Speakers include:

Lynn Boylan MEP who will speak on her work on the Women on Boards Directive in Europe and on her time as Chair of Safe Food Ireland,

Orla O'Connor, Director, NWCI

Halla Tomasdottir, co-founder and lead partner at Sisters Capital, a financial services and private equity company in Iceland

Jane Williams, Managing Director at The Sia Group Limited, Partner at Better Boards and Chairwoman at Pensuions Authority of Ireland.
