International Women's Day, Trinity College Dublin, 6 March 2015

Marian Harkin MEP will launch a celebration of Women's Day in Trinity College on Friday 6th March.  Organised jointly by the European Parliament Office in Ireland together with Network Ireland, the theme of the day will centre on "Harnessing Opportunity in Challenging Times – Empowering Women through Education".  The event starts at 12h00 in the Atrium of TCD.

 

With broadcaster Keelin Shanley MC for the event, the day will also feature Ireland’s Commissioner for Start-Ups, Niamh Bushnell, CEO of the Roads Group; Unicef Ambassador, and Founder of the Lír Acting Academy, Danielle Ryan; Botanist and Winner of a landmark gender discrimination case at the Equality Tribunal, Dr. Micheline Sheehy-Skeffington. Ireland Professor of Poetry, the poet and playwright, Paula Meehan will also take the floor.
