Launch of the Shaping Europe's Future Programme, 21 June 2013, Dublin

Next Friday 21 June sees the launch of the Shaping Europe's Future Programme which will give civil society organisations an opportunity to engage with our MEPs and set priorities for the European social model, the economy and environment in the years ahead.  The programme, developed by the Wheel with the support of the European Parliament, will be launched at The Wheel's inaugural Summer School at the Carmelite Centre, 56 Aungier Street, Dublin, from 9am-1.30pm.  This is a free event but registration is required.

The theme of the Summer School is “Shaping Europe's Future”. This is a particularly timely topic because of the EU elections next year and the unique opportunity it represents to shape Ireland’s place in Europe.  Short briefing on three key topics below will be provided by :

•         The Economy: Nat O'Connor (TASC)
•         A Sustainable Environment: Michael Ewing (Environmental  Pillar)
•         Social Issues: Robin Hannan (EAPN)
These inputs will be followed by parallel workshops on each of these topics and feedback to MEPs who will be present at the event.

This is a FREE event but registration is required.
