National Final of the Europe Direct Soapbox Competition, Farmleigh, Dublin

Fifteen finalists are competing in this event to win the title of National Europe Direct Soapbox Winner 2014.  The contestants must present a three minute speech for or against the topic "The Internet does more harm than good" before a public audience and a panel of judges.  Prizes include a trip to Brussels and a visit to the European Parliament sponsored by MEP Matt Carthy, who will present the prizes to winners in Farmleigh on the day.

Our photo shows winners David Williams (Mountmellick) and Siobhan Fitzgerald (Galway) with their winning certificates and Matt Carthy MEP to the right of picture.
