The European Parliament will once again be present at this year's National Ploughing Championships, which take place from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 September at Ratheniska, Stradbally, Co. Laois.   Together with colleagues from several other services, we will be on hand to deal with any queries you may have about the EU, your rights as a European citizen, consumer affairs, food and all topics of EU interest. We will have the EU funded SOLVIT team to assist you with any problems encountered in availing of your EU based rights and we have the newly elected European Parliament to inform you about.

There will be special emphasis on the work of the EU in science and technology and there will be hands-on experiments for you to try. Learn about the technologies that will soon make a huge contribution to farming life.

We will also have information on our latest schools’ competition ‘Take the 6-word challenge' (compose a six word message to your MEP telling him/her what you would like them to achieve for Ireland and Europe), where four winning schools will represent Ireland at Euroscola, a one-day European youth forum at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

With other quizzes and prizes as well as maps and publications on the EU and your European neighbours, we look forward to seeing you at Stand 297.
