Presentation of Results of Post-Referendum on Fiscal Stability Treaty

On Friday 6 July, the European Parliament Information Office in Dublin hosted a conference led by Professor Richard Sinnott and Dr. Johan Elkink of UCD who discussed the results of the flash Eurobarometer, which was conducted a day after the Irish referendum of 31st May 2012 on the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union (Fiscal Stability Treaty). Two thousand Irish registered voters aged 18 or over were interviewed about their reasons for voting or not, their understanding of the treaty, as well as their main sources of information and knowledge about the EU.
