Reforming the CAP (Cross-border Forum)

Radisson Blu Hotel, Cavan 9.00am - 2.00pm

The first of two cross-border consultations organised by the European Parliament Offices in Ireland and the United Kingdom on the upcoming reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy.

Representatives from North and South will attend and speakers will include Mairead McGuinness MEP, Bairbre de Brun MEP and John Bryan, President of the IFA.  Andrew Doyle TD, chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture will also speak.

Also attending will be Neil Parish MP, of the British House of Commons select committee on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.  Esther de Lange, the Dutch MEP and member of the European Parliament's Agriculture and Rural Development committee will also speak giving the perspective of the Netherlands.

The main purpose of the meeting is to hear the views of farming communities and there will be an opportunity for the audience to question the MEPs and other speakers on the upcoming reforms.  

Members of the public are very welcome.  

Starts at 9.00 am in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cavan on Friday 25th November.

The second cross-border consultation on "Greening the CAP", will take place in Armagh on 2 December 2011.
