Regulating FinTech: The Way Forward

On Friday 14 July, Brian Hayes MEP and member of the European Parliament's Economic and Finance Committee will host an event on FinTech which will discuss the oncoming regulatory responses to Fintech services and how a fit-for-purpose Fintech ecosystem can be created in Ireland.   This event takes place from 9:00-11:00 am at the European Parliament, 12-14 Lower Mount Street. Background

In May the European Parliament was the first EU institution to set out a clear position on how FinTech should be regulated in the EU. The European Commission is currently conducting a public consultation on FinTech with a view to defining an EU strategy.
