A special screening of one of the three finalists in the European Parliament's 2017 LUX Film Prize, Western, will be screened at the Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick on Friday 14 September 2018 at 7 p.m.

The film kicks off a series of events “Limerick citizens and the EU”, organised by the Centre for European Studies (CEUROS) at the University of Limerick in cooperation with the Hunt Museum and Belltable Regional Arts Centre. The programme is supported by the Communicating Europe Initiative of the Irish Government.   The events will take place from September to November 2018.

Background

Every year since 2007, the European Parliament LUX FILM PRIZE has shone a spotlight on films that go to the heart of European public debate. The Parliament believes that cinema, as a mass cultural medium, is an ideal platform for debate and reflection on Europe and its future.

The three finalists in the 2018 edition of the LUX Film Prize can be found at the link below.
