Sean Kelly MEP awards prizes to two Kerry schools, winners of trips to the European Parliament in Strasbourg

Two Kerry schools, Mercy Mounthawk of Tralee, and Presentation Secondary school Milltown, emerged winners from a tightly contested Euro Quiz in Killarney on Friday, 12 October. 85 students from schools all over Kerry gathered in Killarney Library for the quiz .

85 students from schools all over Kerry gathered in Killarney Library for the quiz that was jointly organised by the Libaray's Europe Direct Centre and the European Parliament's Office in Ireland. Sean Kelly MEP was quizmaster for the day. Facing testing questions such as , "What famous battle was fought in June 1815"(Waterloo) and "Which EU country has more than 250,000 lakes" (Finland), Sean remarked on the very high standards of the particpants in which a number of teams scored higher than 40 out of 50 points.

The winners will travel to Strasbourg in March 2013 to take part in debates in the MEPs chamber of the European Parliament building.
