The Lux Film Prize


The European Parliament LUX FILM PRIZE casts an annual spotlight on films that go to the heart of European public debate. Films selected for the competition focus on some of the main social and political issues of the day and, as such, contribute to building a stronger European identity.

Winner of the 2016 LUX Prize

The winner of the 2016 European Parliament LUX Prize is German-Austrian-Romanian co-production “Toni Erdmann”, as announced by President Martin Schulz at a ceremony in Strasbourg on 23 November. The film explores a complex relationship between a father and daughter in contemporary corporate culture.
