Workshop on EU Information Sources
A joint workshop on EU Information Sources was co-organised with the Joint Committee of European Affairs at Leinster House on 1 June 2017. The workshop designed specifically for National Parliaments included presentations from the European Parliamentary Research Service, the European Union Office of Publications as well as the Oireachtas Library and Research Service.
In recent years, the European Parliament has developed a number of new online resources that aim to render European policy development and decision-making more transparent. In particular, the European Parliamentary Research Service provides a range of independent and authoritative information and analysis across all EU policy areas. The Publications Office of the European Union (Publications Office) is an interinstitutional office which publishes the publications of the institutions of the European Union (Decision 2009/496/EC, Euratom). Its core activities include production and dissemination of legal and general publications in a variety of paper and electronic formats, such as the daily Official Journal of the European Union in 23 official EU languages (24 when Irish is required). It also manages six websites, EUR-Lex, the EU Open Data Portal, EU Bookshop, TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), CORDIS and EU Whoiswho.
