Public Procurement

In accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the European Union (Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 966/2012 as amended by Regulation 2015/1929 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 October 2015), and its implementing rules, the European Parliament is required to issue invitations to tender in order to purchase goods, services and works.

The various principles governing public procurement procedures include the principle of transparency, which necessitates adequate advance publicity when such procedures are launched, as follows :

  • Public procurement with publication of a contract notice
  • Contracts with a value exceeding €15 000 but below the thresholds set by Directive 2014/24/EU, to be awarded by negotiated procedure
