Visit of Pope Francis to the EP plenary in November: Call for expressions of interest for accreditation
On Tuesday 25 November, Pope Francis will address the European Parliament in Strasbourg. For technical reasons, all journalists will need a special badge to access its premises that day, even if they already have EU accreditation. Please apply by 12 November.
In reviewing requests for accreditation, the criteria for the European Parliament and EU inter-institutional press card are applied.
The registration deadline for media accreditation is 12 November, stating:
- Family Name and First Name
- Media Organization
- Type of organization (Television, Newspaper, Agency, Radio, Periodical)
- Date of birth
- ID or passport number
- Press card number (if available)
- Mobile number*
Information submitted will be used by the General Secretariat of the European Parliament for media accreditation and can be submitted for security screening. Completing this call for expression of interest implies acceptance of this provision. No late registration will be accepted.
All journalists wishing to obtain accreditation for the papal visit, including those in possession of valid European Parliament or EU interinstitutional press accreditation must provide a JPEG named passport photo, maximum 100-200k.
Accreditation for 25 November will be valid for the entire week.
All accreditation requests should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
You will be notified in due course of further details on the media arrangements for 25 November and about the place and time to pick up the badge.
For AV media (TV and photo), pools will be organised and communicated at a later stage according to possibilities. Live video feed covering all public events will be distributed on site, broadcast on Europe by Satellite (EbS) and webstreamed.
There will be a limited access for satellite trucks.
Access to the press facilities will be given exclusively to journalists duly accredited.
Badges are strictly personal.
