An Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee delegation will meet Members of US Congress, the US Treasury and supervisory authorities in Washington to discuss the role of financial services in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, macro-economic policies and the fight against tax evasion. European Council. The outcome of the 20-21 March EU summit will be debated at an extraordinary Conference of Presidents, open to all MEPs, with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy. (Wednesday)

TTIP and financial services. An Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee delegation will meet Members of US Congress, the US Treasury and supervisory authorities in Washington to discuss the role of financial services in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, macro-economic policies and the fight against tax evasion. (Monday to Wednesday)

Poland/Euro. An Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee delegation will meet the Polish authorities to assess Poland's progress towards adopting the euro. (Monday to Tuesday)

Qatar/migrant workers. A delegation from the Human Rights Subcommittee and the Foreign Affairs Committee will go to Qatar to assess the situation of migrant workers in Qatar as a follow-up to the November 2013 EP resolution. The delegation will meet foreign affairs ministry and labour representatives, the National Human Rights Committee and independent experts. (Sunday 23/03 to Monday)

President's diary. President Schulz will be in Denmark on Monday and Tuesday to meet Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard and Parliament Speaker Mogens Lykketoft. On Thursday and Friday, he will be in Finland to meet President Sauli Niinistö, Parliament Speaker Eero Heinäluoma and Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.

2014 European elections. A seminar for journalists on the upcoming elections and on the current challenges and possible future direction of the EU takes place on Wednesday. (from 09:00, PHS, room 4B001)
