European Studies Winners participate in Euroscola
48 young people from Ireland's 32 counties participated in the European Parliament's Euroscola programme in Strasbourg on Thursday, 10 February. The young people, aged between 16 and 18, were the winners of this year's European Studies competition which focused on the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals. As part of the competition, they had researched this topic and produced a leaflet informing fellow students about the Goals and the progress countries had made in achieving these Goals. The students joined counterparts from the EU's 26 other Member States, debating a range of issues, presenting their opinions and attempting to reach consensus decisions. All agreed that it was a worthwhile and informative visit.
