Spring Day in Europe 2009 - Euroscola Pilot Poster Competition

The European Parliament Office in Ireland in collaboration with the Citizenship Education Support Team of the Department of Education and Science organised a pilot poster competition as part of the Spring Day 2010 campaign on Creativity and Innovation.

The judges were very impressed by the standard of entries to this competition. The students demonstrated a very good understanding of the European Union and in particular this year's theme of Creativity and Innovation in Europe.

The winners, aged between 14 and 16 years,  are from Holy Family Secondary School, Newbridge and Holy Faith Secondary School, Clontarf. They  will  go to Strasbourg, on a Euroscola trip on 4 June 2009. This will give these young people an opportunity to discuss their hopes and ideas on and for Europe, and to engage with other young people from the other EU member states. We wish them every success as they go to Strasbourg representing Ireland at this important European event for young people.
