European Parliament Ambassadors Schools Pilot Project in Malta
The pilot project of the European Ambassador School Programme was conducted over the scholastic year 2015/16 with five participating schools teaching six learning modules but also class work and quizzes covering the history, values and workings of the democracy of the European Union. Students, guided by their teachers and heads of schools, showed a keen interest in topics and willingness to learn more about the European Union and its role in our lives.
Through this experience, students became Junior Ambassadors of the European Parliament. At the end of the semester students from each school participated in a seminar held at Europe House in Valletta where each of the five teams was invited to give a presentation dealing with aspects of the Union and its work. Following the presentations each team brought forward games the students themselves created with an underlying EU theme. Students and teachers worked together to make this project fruitful as well as memorable.
