Academy of Education (teacher-training qualification for primary and secondary schools) (1972-1974). Studied psychology and politics at the University of Innsbruck (1979-1987), PhD (1987). Teacher at primary and secondary schools in the Tyrol (1974-1983). Self-employed in adult education (1987-1994).
	Secretary of the Green Alternative ARGE ALP (Working Community of the Alpine Regions) (1988). Spokeswoman for the Tyrol Greens (1989-1999). Spokeswoman for the Austrian Greens on transport and tourism (1999-2004).
	Advisory member of the environment committee of Hall in Tirol town council (1986-2002). Chairwoman of the Greens in the Tyrol Regional Assembly (1989-1994). Member of the Regional Government of the Tyrol (department for environmental protection) (1994-1999). Member of the Austrian Parliament, member of the Transport Committee, of the Committee on National Defence and of the Main Committee (with responsibility for European affairs) (1999-2004).
