  • Read more about one of the murky men behind Brexit and Trump. It’s disturbing stuff but it’s our job to stand up for democracy against men like this. ‘Seen from a distance, Mercer can appear like a Bond movie villain. A computer scientist-turned hedge fund billionaire, he is reclusive and taciturn. He does not do interviews. He stays out of sight sailing the world in his luxurious, high-tech super yacht, Sea Owl, or holed up in his Long Island estate, Owl’s Nest, while plotting the political transformation of America.’ http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/sh/wex94ODaUs/trump-robert-mercer-billionaire

  • In a major Green victory, we have successfully achieved an inquiry committee into the way the European institutions agreed to renew the licence for glyphosate. The committee will have a vital role in establishing how we can make the decision-making and evaluation processes transparent and objective. Secret science is not science: its time to shine a spotlight on who is pulling the strings when it comes to authorising these potentially toxic and environmentally damaging products.

  • This meeting will be held in the Exeter Library Rougemont Room. ALL WELCOME! A chance to hear the views of Molly Scott Cato, the Green MEP for the South West and speaker on Brexit for the Green Party. She will share her thoughts about where we are with Brexit; what Brexit has to do with Exeter and what we can all do to stop the Tories disastrous hard Brexit plans. Aside from Brexit, Molly has been at the forefront of challenging corporate tax dodging across the EU and is a key advocate for sustainable agriculture, renewable energy and environmental protection. She is also a Professor of Economics and offers a green economics perspective on current events.
