  • Member of the Nationalrat (1996).
  • Member of the European Parliament (since 1996). Member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee, Substitute member of the Committee on Budgets. EPP small business spokesperson on the WTO Steering Committee. Member of the Delegation for relations with Switzerland, Norway, to the EU-Iceland Joint Parliamentary Committee and to the European Economic Area Joint Parliamentary Committee (Arctic Council and EFTA).
