Talousarvioon liittyvässä keskustelussa suurin helposti säästettävä kuluerä syntyisi siirtymisellä yhteen istuntopaikkaan. Tästä aiheutuu vuosittain merkittävä kuluerä, joka olisi helposti leikattavissa.

EU accession to the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (A8-0266/2017 - Christine Revault d'Allonnes Bonnefoy, Anna Maria Corazza Bildt)

I voted in favour of this report because violence against women and domestic violence are still very much present in today’s world, including within the borders of the European Union. It is important to do everything in our power to help the victims, bring perpetrators to justice and prevent any future instances of violence. It is one of the crucial steps on the way to achieving gender equality within the European Union.

Impact of international trade and EU’s trade policies on global value chains (A8-0269/2017 - Maria Arena) FI

Mietintö pääpiirteissään sisältää kannatettavia elementtejä, mutta kauppapolitiikan kestävyyden ei tulisi perustua ainoastaan EU:n jäsenmaiden yrityksiä koskevaan sääntelyyn, vaan ideaalia olisi luoda globaalit säännöt, jotka sitovat kaikkia yrityksiä. Luomalla yksinomaan eurooppalaista sääntelyä vahingoitamme eurooppalaisten yritysten kilpailukykyä. Globaalien arvoketjujen säänteleminen edellyttää globaaleja sääntöjä. Tästä syystä en voi hyväksyä mietintöä kokonaisuutena.

Members can submit a specific number of questions to the President of the European Council, the Council, the Commission and the Vice-President of the Commission/High Representative of the Union, for written answer. Rule 130, Annex II
