Dalībvalstu nodarbinātības politikas pamatnostādnes (A8-0177/2019 - Miroslavs Mitrofanovs) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole. It affirms the Commission’s position to maintain employment guidelines of 2018 for the year 2019, based on the argument that there are no such developments in the economic and labour market situation that would require the change of priorities and targets.

Atkritumu apsaimniekošana (B8-0231/2019) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole.

Kopīgi noteikumi attiecībā uz dabasgāzes iekšējo tirgu (A8-0143/2018 - Jerzy Buzek) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole. The amended rules will cover both internal EU gas pipelines as well as all gas pipelines from non-EU countries into the EU, creating legal clarity for existing and new gas infrastructure. With the new legislation, these rules would, in principle, be applicable to all gas pipelines in the EU, even if they originate outside the Union, with the possibility of derogations for existing pipelines and exemptions for new ones. The Directive will enter into force on the 20th day after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Eiropas Jūrlietu un zivsaimniecības fonds (A8-0176/2019 - Gabriel Mato) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole. The new European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), with a 10% budget increase, will provide a modern, simple and more flexible fund to support a sustainable and competitive fishing sector by improving fishermen’s working and living conditions on board. The text endorsed will also allow for more flexible access to compensation in case of temporary or permanent cessation of fishing activities and will facilitate access to credit, insurance and financial instruments for sustainable vessels.

Daudzgadu plāns zvejniecībām, kas izmanto bentiskos krājumus Vidusjūras rietumu daļā (A8-0005/2019 - Clara Eugenia Aguilera García) EN

. ‒ I abstained in the vote on this report as a whole. The Western Mediterranean is one of the most developed fishery sub-regions in the Mediterranean, accounting for around 31% of total landings in that area. Demersal fisheries in the basin have a high commercial value and are currently managed through national management plans. The new regulation, which affects fleets, mainly trawlers, from Italy, France and Spain, provides for postponing the achievement – expected in 2020 – of maximum sustainable yield (MSY) within five years from the entry into force of the plan, taking into account socioeconomic aspects.

Savienības pilsoņiem izsniegto personas apliecību un uzturēšanās dokumentu drošības uzlabošana (A8-0436/2018 - Gérard Deprez) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole. It aims to facilitate the exercise of the right to free movement of EU citizens in a secure environment, i.e. to facilitate their right to travel to and reside in any Member State with their national identity cards and to rely on these cards there as reliable proof of nationality, as well as their right to rely on the residence documentation issued to them as residents of a Member State other than their country of nationality.

Ceļu infrastruktūras drošības pārvaldība (A8-0008/2019 - Daniela Aiuto) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole which aims to strengthen the road infrastructure management to reduce road fatalities and serious injuries. It will extend the scope of the current rules to motorways and other primary roads beyond the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). This will contribute significantly to the improvement of road infrastructure safety across the Union. Also, it will become mandatory to take systematic account of pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users in road safety management procedure.

Viseiropas privāto pensiju produkts (A8-0278/2018 - Sophia in 't Veld) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour of this report as a whole. This is a voluntary scheme, with strong consumer protection that has nothing to do with the first pillar (public pensions). The third pillar already exists in the Member State but it represents currently an obstacle for the mobility of workers because it is not portable. One of the features of pan-European personal pension products (PEPPs) is their portability. The regulation introduces also the basic PEPP with the same features all over the EU and with very simple characteristics that do not require financial knowledge for being understood. The regulation introduces also a cap on fees that represents an important achievement in terms of consumer protection.

Daudzgadu plāns zobenzivs krājuma atjaunošanai Vidusjūrā (A8-0389/2018 - Marco Affronte) EN

I voted in favour of this report as a whole. The status of Mediterranean swordfish is a matter of increasing concern, it has been overfished for more than 30 years. The high proportion of juvenile swordfish in the catches has a negative impact on the spawning biomass. It is urgent to reverse this situation and to adopt a Mediterranean swordfish recovery plan to stop the rapid stock decline and help rebuild the stock to levels consistent with the ICCAT Convention objective
