The Committee on Transports and Tourism will hold a joint hearing with the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy on the "Connecting Europe Facility" (CEF). The hearing will focus on the strengths and weaknesses of EU funding and on building EU added value. The overarching regulation (CEF) sets the framework for EU funding for infrastructure development. The proposed budget is € 50 billions: € 9.1 billions for energy, € 31 billions for transport and € 9.1 billions for telecommunication.
On Wednesday, the Internal Market Committee MEPs will hold a hearing on the proposal for a revision of the Professional Qualifications Directive. Minimum training requirements, common training principles and the establishment of a professional card to ensure fast and safe recognition of skills for professionals working abroad are among the issues to be debated. The hearing will be webstreamed live on the EP website.
The hearing will focus on accountability for human rights violations, transitional justice, and judicial reform in Arab Spring countries. MEPs will discuss the situation with representatives of UN, different NGOs as Human Rights Watch and organizations from Tunisia and Bahrain and EU External Action Service.
Organised by the Committee on Legal Affairs, Members will hold discussions with experts to gain insights from both the civil society and industry perspectives, contributing to the work of Arlene MCCARTHY (S&D, UK ), rapporteur for the review of the Transparency Directive and Klaus-Heiner LEHNE (EPP, DE), rapporteur for the review of the accounting directives.

Experts at the hearing will present correct challenges and prospects for cultural European industries (including media, movies and music) in the context of the new EU programmes in this field.
