      1. AFET Delegation to Argentina and Colombia

        Elmar BROK (EPP, DE), Chair of the EP Foreign Affairs committee will head the Committee's delegation to Argentina and Colombia. He will be accompanied by Cristian Dan PREDA (EPP, RO), Richard HOWITT (S&D, UK), Francisco ASSIS (S&D, PT), Javier NART (ALDE, ES), Javier  COUSO PERMUY (GUE, ES) and Alyn SMITH (Greens/EFA, UK).


        During their visit to the Argentinian capital on 29 and 30 March, MEPs will meet with the recently-elected Argentinian President Mauricio Macri and other members of the government, as well as with representatives of parliament and civil society. MEPs will express European backing to the new Argentinian executive's efforts to reinitiate a path of openness to the world.


        The second part of the visit, on 31 March and 1st April, will take place in Bogotá, Colombia, where members of the AFET delegation will meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and high-ranking government members as well as with representatives of civil society. The visit – taking place just one week after the March 23 deadline for a peace accord between the government and FARC rebels - will be an opportunity for the Members of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs committee to reiterate the EU's support to the Colombian peace process.

      2. Agriculture Committee delegation to the Netherlands 

        A delegation of the Agriculture Committee will travel to Berkel en Rodenrijs (Netherlands) to learn more about biological pest management solutions. The delegation will also meet with Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Minister for Economic Affairs Henk Kamp, Agriculture Minister Martijn van Dam, Dutch MP's and representatives from the Dutch agricultural sector in The Hague.

      3. EMPL delegation to California 

        Eight members of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee will visit San Francisco and Silicon Valley, California, from 29 March to 1 April. The members of the delegation are: the Chair Thomas HÄNDEL (GUE/NGL, DE), Thomas MANN (EPP, DE), Anne SANDER (EPP, FR), Romana TOMC (EPP, SL), Agnes JONGERIUS (S&D, NL), Jutta STEINRUCK (S&D, DE), Ulrike TREBESIUS (ECR, DE) and Morten LØKKEGAARD (ALDE, DK). The delegation will visit San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Airbnb, Berkley University, Uber, Google, Intel, Amazon, Facebook and Silicon Valley Robotics. Meetings will focus on the effect of digitalisation on job market, skills required for the jobs of the future and the changing working conditions in information technology and shared economy sectors.

      4. ITRE delegation to Ireland 

        A delegation of five MEPs in the committee for industry, research and energy will visit Cork, Ireland from 29 to 31 March. The members of the delegation are: Paul RÜBIG (EPP, DE), Sean KELLY (EPP, IR), Flavio ZANONATO (S&D, PT), Carolina PUNSET BANNEL (ALDE, ES), Barbara KAPPEL (ENF, AT).The delegation will visit Tyndall National Institute, Cork Institute of Technology and University College Cork. Meetings will focus on energy policy, in particular renewables such as tidal power, telecoms and research and innovation.

The leader of the delegation is committee chairwoman Danuta Hübner (EPP, PL). Other participating members are György Schöpflin (EPP, HU), David Mc Allister (EPP, DE), Ramon Jauregui (S&D, ES), Pedro Silva Pereira (S&D, PT), Maite Pagazaurtundúa Ruiz (ALDE, ES) and Helmut Scholz (GUE/NGL, DE).
