      1. DEVE delegation to Senegal 

        13-16 February

        Africa Trust Fund under EP scrutiny. A delegation of development MEPs will visit Senegal between 13 and 16 February to assess how the EU’s Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, set up to tackle root causes of migration, works on the ground. They will visit EU-funded projects offering meaningful employment for young people, and meet local authorities, civil society representatives and returned migrants who try to build a new life with EU contribution.

      2. EMPL delegation to CEDEFOP (Thessaloniki) 

        On 12-13 February EMPL Members will visit the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP). Topics discussed will be the agency’s contribution to the design and implementation of European vocational education and training policy as well as key issues for future

      3. IMCO mission to Madrid, Spain 

        A delegation of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee will go to Madrid from 12 to 14 February 2018 to discuss the Digital Single Market strategy and the on-going implementation of the web accessibility directive. MEPs will also look into initiatives to boost the market for accessible products and services, in the context of the on-going negotiations of the EU legislative proposal on accessibility of products and services in the internal market, the so-called "European Accessibility Act".

      4. INTA delegation to Colombia and Peru 

        12-16 February

        A delegation of trade MEPs, led by chair Bernd Lange (S&D, DE) will visit the two countries to  assess progress in the implementation of the agreement that has been applied for 5 years.


        Members are set to meet Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos and Peruvian president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, along with ministers, lawmakers, representatives of the local business community and the civil society of both countries.  


        The visit also allows the International Trade Committee to evaluate the application of the action plans on human rights and sustainable development that were submitted by the Colombian and Peruvian governments to the European Parliament before the ratification. The findings of the mission will feed into the committee’s implementation report on the free trade deal with Colombia and Peru, set to be published in the second half of 2018.   

      5. Mission to Paris, France 

        A delegation of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee will go to Paris from 12 to 14 February 2018 to discuss reforms of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), Banking union, Capital Markets Union and fiscal harmonisation in the EU. MEPs will also look into supervision of Clearing Houses (CCPs) and other Brexit related issues. Additionally they will discuss innovative banking, FinTech and digital economy.

        Women’s rights in Hungary - committee mission - 12-14.2.2018 
        Budapest, Budapest 

         A mission to Budapest is being organised by the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality in order to observe the situation of women’s rights in Hungary. It will focus on the status of the Istanbul convention, sexual and reproductive rights, women’s participation in political and economic life, work-life balance, and the situation of Roma women. The visit will include meetings with government and parliament representatives, the civil society and academic experts on gender equality. Vilija Blinkevičiūtė (S&D, LT) will chair the delegation composed of Maria NOICHL (S&D, DE), Angelika MLINAR (ALDE, AT) and Terry REINTKE (Greens/EFA, DE). Local members Lívia JÁRÓKA (EPP), István UJHELYI (S&D) and Krisztina MORVAI (NI) will also be present.

        A delegation from the Committee on Culture and Education will visit Valetta (Malta) - European Capital of Culture 2018. MEPs will meet the Chairman and other representatives of the Valletta 2018 Foundation. They will visit cultural venues and discuss on activities organised within the framework of Valletta 2018.         Vienna, Vienne 

        The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy's (ITRE) mission to Austria from 14 to 16 February 2018 will focus on preparation and implementation of national and European legislation on electricity markets and renewable energy, operation of gas networks, oil refining technology and quantum technology.

         
        The delegation will meet the representatives of the Austrian Parliament and relevant ministers of the Austrian Government. In addition, the delegation will visit an oil refinery, gas and oil production site, gas hub, electricity production site, as well to a research and development sites.

        A delegation from the Committee on Petitions (PETI) will conduct a fact-finding mission to Brandenburg (Germany), specifically to Potsdam and the Lusatia region, on 14-16 February 2018. The purpose of the mission is to examine allegations raised in two petitions relating to the local impacts of the coal industry.

        Women’s rights in Hungary - committee mission - 12-14.2.2018 
        Budapest, Budapest 

         A mission to Budapest is being organised by the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality in order to observe the situation of women’s rights in Hungary.
