EP building in Strasbourg   The plenary session takes place in Strasbourg on 17-20 April 2012

MEPs will debate and vote on various issues during the plenary session in Strasbourg on 17-20 April, including a vote on a EU-US deal to transfer EU air passengers' personal date to the US Department of Homeland Security. They will also vote on the Parliament's human rights report for 2010, debate how to tackle the economic crisis with Commission president José Manuel Barroso and discuss recent developments in Syria, Mali and Myanmar with EU foreign affairs high representative Catherine Ashton.


In addition MEPs will debate employment rights in the EU with the European Commission, vote on a draft resolution on the reform of EU farm policy to sustain biodiversity, vote on new social security rules for aircrew and self-employed workers, vote on a Commission proposal on how fuels should be taxed and question the Commission about biometric passport fraud. On Wednesday King Abdullah II of Jordan will deliver a formal address to the European Parliament.
