One number for yEUr complaints, but who will be on the other end of that line? Find out @ http://epfacebook.eu/a4P. Facebook Engaging with the EU has become easier than ever thanks to a new web portal enabling you to find out about upcoming legislation, comment on new proposals as well as interact with policy makers online. Your Voice in Europe is there for anyone who wants to tweet their MEP, transfer their social security, understand the public mood or indeed give their opinion on new plans.
Your Voice in Europe offers access to public consultations launched by the European Commission. This could be on specific policy initiatives such as for example state aid to short-term export-credit insurance or the SME panels for business stakeholders.
The web portal allows you to get in touch with EU policy makers at all levels. Not only MEPs, but also commissioners and Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the European Council. There are links to their blogs and twitter feeds as well as to all to the platforms the EU institutions are present on.
It also boasts a handy directory of links with detailed practical information on almost every aspect of life at the European level. This ranges from career opportunities, travel, a list of Brussels lobbies, social security rights when moving in the EU to corporate taxation and public tenders.
The Commission operates the portal as part of its interactive policy making initiative. The idea is to improve policy development by inviting more rapid and targeted responses to emerging issues and problems.
