EYE 2014: Young Europeans for a better Europe

The EYE event encouraged young people to come up with ideas for the future of Europe

What can Europe offer young people? On 9-11 May the Parliament brought together thousands of young people for the European Youth Event 2014 (EYE), seeking "Ideas for a better Europe". The participants discussed issues of importance to them, such as employment, with politicians, organisations and institutions from all over Europe.

The event included a large variety of discussions and activities, inside and outside the EP. Participants participated in workshops, debates and other activities on five topics: youth unemployment, the digital revolution, the future of the EU, sustainability, and European values.

A final report on EYE, collecting key ideas produced by participants, was handed  to MEPs to serve as a source of inspiration.

In December 2014 and January 2015 select EYE2014 participants present the conclusions of the event to MEPs in several parliamentary committees. Follow the hearings on social media with the hashtag #EYEHearings.
