As 2016 is rapidly approaching, it is a good occasion to look back at this year's most memorable moments, from the refugees crisis to the terrorist attacks. The European Parliament also dealt with issues such as tax rulings, Greece and debated the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US. Watch our video to relive those moments.

It has proved a very challenging year for Europe, marked by the refugee crisis. In plenary, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel debated the issue with MEPs.

Deadly attacks in Paris on 13 November brought the fight against terrorism to the top of the Parliament's agenda.

In the wake of the Lux leaks scandal, the Parliament’s tax rulings committee recommended measures to improve corporate tax transparency.

Raif Badawi, a blogger from Saudi Arabia who is currently serving a 10-year prison for "insulting Islam" on his website, won the 2015 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, while the Lux Film Prize was awarded to the Turkish-French film director Deniz Gamze Ergüven for her film Mustang.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras also came to the Parliament to discuss the difficult situation in his country.
