Joint Conference in Tirana
Members of the Pre-Accession Countries' Parliaments and the European Parliament - Ulrike Lunacek (ALDE, AT), Eleni Theocharous (EPP, CY) - in cooperation with the Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU and European Commission will debate along with experts the fundamental rights and the protection of vulnerable groups including LGBTI.
Michael GAHLER (EPP, DE) will lead a 7-strong MEP delegation which will observe the first round of the presidential elections in Tunisia scheduled for 23 November 2014. The other members of the delegation, which will travel to Tunisia from 21 to 25 November, are Santiago FISAS AYXELÀ (EPP, ES), Francisco Assis (S&D, PT), Marie-Christine VERGIAT (GUE/NGL, FR), Jordi SEBASTIÀ (Greens/EFA, ES), Fabio Massimo CASTALDO (EFDD, IT), Jean-Francois JALKH (NI, FR).
The European Parliament’s delegation will be deployed as part of the EU Election Observation Mission to Tunisia headed by the Chief Observer MEP Annemia Neyts-Uytterbroek (ALDE, BE). Preliminary conclusions will be presented in a press conference held jointly by the Chief Observer and the chair of the EP delegation on 25 November in Tunis.

Eva KAILI (S&D, EL), chair of the EP delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, will lead a 3 MEP strong delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly 60th annual session in The Hague between 21 and 24 November 2014. She will be joined by Georgios KYRSTOS (EPP, EL) and Anna Elżbieta Fotyga (ECR, PL).
Situation in Ukraine, post-2014 engagement in Afghanistan and the future of the Alliance will be among the main subjects of debates and votes at the 60th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. MEPs and their counterparts from the national parliaments of the NATO member states will also exchange with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, or Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary General.
