Employment and robotics. MEPs of the Employment and Social Affairs committee, led by Jutta Steinruck (S&D, DE), will go to Washington D.C. to gather information on the effects of digitalisation, robotics and artificial intelligence on employment and social protection. (Tuesday - Friday)
Security in Eastern Congo. A delegation of the Security and Defence subcommittee, led by its chair Ms. Anna Fotyga (ECR, PL), will make a fact-finding visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo next week, including a visit to the UN stabilisation mission (MONUSCO) and talks on the security situation in Eastern Congo. (Tuesday to Friday).
Morocco. In Rabat (Morocco), a delegation will meet with Moroccan MPs to discuss migration, security, the EU neighbourhood policy and the fight against radicalisation. (Monday to Thursday)
Human rights in Bolivia. A delegation of the Human Rights subcommittee will travel to La Paz (Bolivia) for talks with government, parliament and civil society representatives and to assess the human rights situation. (Tuesday to Thursday)
Hotspots in Italy. Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs MEPS will visit Rome and Sicily to take stock of the different aspects of receiving large numbers of asylum seekers and migrants.
President's diary. EP President Antonio Tajani will attend and hold a keynote speech at the conference of speakers of the EU parliaments in Bratislava on Sunday and Monday 23-24 April.
