Winners of the EU Citizens' Prize announced

Jaffer Hussain  

Jaffer Hussain, Tina Ellen Lee and Carole Roberts are the three inspiring Brits selected as winners of this year's EU Citizens' Prize. They join 44 laureates from across the European Union. (Read more: Winners of the EU Citizens' Prize announced )

 
Lydia Foy  

Lydia Foy is among the 47 winners of the European Citizen's Prize 2015 of the European Parliament. Since 2008, the prize has been awarded to citizens or organisations having contributed to promoting better mutual understanding and closer integration between citizens or to facilitating cross-border or transnational cooperation within the EU. The winner will receive a medal of honour at an award ceremony in Ireland and will be invited to a joint event with all 47 winners in Brussels in October. 2014 Lux Prize Screenings in London

A trainee's insight into working for the EP Information Office in London

Whilst searching for jobs last autumn, a friend sent me a link to traineeships for university graduates at the EP. As a keen linguist and politics enthusiast, I decided to apply and in December was delighted to learn that I had been accepted as a trainee at the Information Office in London for five months in March. Election night  

Following weeks of hard work and a massive 'go to vote' campaign on social media, EPIO United Kingdom hosted an election night event to hear and discuss the election results. This was one of the largest events ever hosted at Europe House with over 240 participants, including MEP candidates, academics, think-tankers and the general public. In view of the upcoming European Parliament elections on 22 May, The European Parliament Information Office in Edinburgh held a REACT-style event on 24 January 2014, on the eve of Burns' Night, at the Scottish National Gallery. The event took place as part of the four-phase ACT.REACT.IMPACT campaign launched by the European Parliament in the run-up to the Elections focusing on the topic of Quality of Life.
