The European Parliament hosts this week the eight plenary session of EuroLat
The Euro-Latin American (EuroLat) parliamentary assembly will hold its eight plenary session on 4 and 5 June in the European Parliament’s premises, with most of its 150 members confirmed to attend.
The EuroLat members will also gather a week before the II EU-CELAC summit, also taking place in Brussels (10-11 June).
EuroLat is expected to send a strong message to the 61 Heads of State and Governments of both regions about the priorities in the relationship between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The plenary will vote several reports, about e.g. mining in the XXI century and supporting a biregional alliance for the Paris UN climate conference. Other topics in the agenda include migration, shale gas, digital agenda, financing of political parties, sovereign debt restructuring, trade agreements and Colombia´s peace process.
There will be meetings with civil society, as well as with the Euro-Latin American Women´s Forum.
